This is Foyer Olsen (my grandfather, my father's father).

Foyer was born December 28, 1907, in Castle Dale Utah to Abinadi and Hannah Seely Olsen.  Foyer was the second youngest of his family.  His siblings are (from oldest to youngest): Chasty, Orange and Henning (twins), Hazel, Delon and Jenny Lind (twins), Crystal, Wanda, Wendell and George.  All were born Castle Dale Utah.

Foyer assisted at the family's homestead on Joes Valley Ranch.  Farm lands were converted from sagebrush to fields of grain and alfalfa.  Large springs provided water for recreation, homesites, fish ponds and meadows for livestock.  Family renions are held there semi-annually.  Foyer worked hard on the Olsen Ranch.  Family Reunions are held there semiannually.
Foyer attended grade and high school in Castle Dale, Utah graduating in 1927.  He also attended Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City, Utah for two years, thence to Utah State University, Logan.  There he received a  B.S. Degree in Agriculture in 1935. While attending college, Foyer worked for Utah Parks Company. He drove bus from Cedar City to Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon National Parks.
While at college in Cedar City, Foyer met Fae Marie Jackson, Toquerville, Utah, the daughter of Franklin B. and Luna Vilate Lamb Jackson. They were married in the St. George L.D.S Temple for time and all eternity on March 10, 1931. They were blessed with seven children--four boys and three girls. Our first children Farrar Nad, Fayne J. and Barbara Marie (triplets) were born November 23, 1932. Barbara passed away November 25. Larry Seely, August 22, 1938, JoAnn, March 12, 1945, Joyce, April 13, 1947, Alan H., January 23, 1950. Fae died December 13, 1962. Farrar died September 7, 1977.

Foyer worked 37 years for the U. S. Forest Service as a Ranger in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Wyoming. Transferred to Dixie National Forest,  and finally Cedar City, Utah. Nonetheless, this family moved many times before settling in Cedar City Utah in 1955.  Foyer was responsible for the protection and management of forest and range resources. All resources were managed on a sustained yield basis. Being a Forester was a satisfying and interesting profession for Foyer.
Cedar City had been Foyer's home town since coming from Wyoming.  It was in Cedar City that they constructed a home and planned to live here with family and friends.  That is what they did.
During World War II, all four Foyer and Fae's sons were in the Military Service.
Farrar -- Navy
Fayne -- Air Force
Larry -- National Guard
Alan-Army (Vietnam)

They all served with honor and distinction.
Foyer joined the International Association of Lions Clubs, Cedar City, Utah, in 1957. He served as Club President and District Governor for State of Utah. Have had 28 years of perfect attendance as of 1985.Foyer married Beatrice Parker Brunson, a widow, November 14, 1964 after Fae passed away. She is
the mother of three girls, Beverley, Patricia, and Dixie, and a son, Kenney. Together we have two wonderful and congenial families. All are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Both Foyer and Beatrice have been called and Set Apart as Temple Workers in the St. George
L. D. S. Temple.
Foyer is a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and has been elected for Vice President for Southern Utah. The ideals and purpose of this organization is to preserve the heritage of our Pioneers of the Utah Territory.
